Our
life is itself a drama. For people employed and work in business
institutions their work environment does affect sea influence
to individuals and their lifestyles.
For most of the employed a great deal of time of day is consumed
at their workplaces or tied at least to work at times without
much room for them to use their own discretion.
In
1991 I introduced a core time on the third Friday of the month
to provide our employees with chances to kill time at their own
will during afternoon work hours. This duration of paid hours
is coined as: "Refresh Time."
The prime object of this scheme is to
offer our employees "T.G.I.F.", or Thank God It's Friday-type
off hours in its real terms to help freshen up themselves, footloose.
This
program has been extended to twice a month basis. With such recreational
facilities within the company compound as volleyball and tennis
courts and a golf green furnished with a patch of sand trap our
employees have a freedom to enjoy "paid afternoon off-duty
hours." I am quite certain that the introduction of "Refresh
Time" has done a great deal to add on the job safety, work
efficiency, to put absenteeism to a minimum not to say of keeping
themselves fit both physically and mentally as well.
For the individuals who spend most of
their time of day at their workplace it could be dubbed as the
stage of life on which they perform as players. And their boss
should act as a director or a stage manager, so to speak.
In this concept each individual, as an actor or actress, is sure
to be given an opportunity to live and work for the attainment
of his or her "Self-actualization" through their own
assignment.
